Resources on the Web - BC
Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives- BC Office The Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives (CCPA) conducts research on the social and economic effects of public policies, as well as submitting recommendations to the government.
In 2004, the CCPA released a study entitled Financing Higher Education, which examines per-student funding for post-secondary education over a span of fifteen years, as well as tuition fee levels during that period. In particular, the study looks at the implementation of the BC government's policy of creating 25,000 new post-secondary student seats by 2010. The study recommends that additional funding be allocated to implement this policy in order to avoid a deficiency in access and quality.
